Kimberly Charlton, LCSW

Kimberly Charlton, LCSW [she/her]

I received my Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 2016 and my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2017. Since then, I have worked in multiple settings serving families, from Social Services as a caseworker, to residential services, to individual therapy.
In the individual therapy setting, I enjoy working with children and adolescents ages 4-16 incorporating play therapy and age-appropriate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My style of therapy is dynamic, hands-on, and person-centered. My goal is for children to actually look forward to coming to therapy and for parents to feel like they are an active part of their child’s growth outside of therapy.

I also have experience working with adults and have served clients through telehealth. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma processing, emotional regulation, and parenting support. I hope every client sees this work as a partnership, where there is no judgment, setbacks are accepted, and progress is celebrated. I look forward to meeting clients with an open mind to meet their specific needs.
Outside of the office, I enjoy going outside to explore Charlotte’s greenways, checking out new restaurants and baking yummy treats for my friends to sample!
